Ust-Katav car-building plant (UKCP, part of the State Space Corporation "Roscosmos") has been declared the winner of tenders to supply 55 new single-section tram cars for Chelyabinsk. The capital of the Southern Urals will receive 25 fully low-floor and 30 partially low-floor cars. According to the terms of the contracts, the trams must be manufactured and delivered to Chelyabinsk by December 1, 2024.

In accordance with the customer's requirements, the new tram cars for Chelyabinsk must be adapted to operate as part of a train consisting of two cars in a multiple-unit system, equipped with contactless fare payment terminals, and video panels. Free Wi-Fi for passengers and the ability to charge gadgets during the journey are provided. The customer has once again chosen the striking combination of pearl-white and green colors for painting the cars, which is already well-known to the residents of Chelyabinsk and guests of the South Ural metropolis.

In doing so, we contribute to the project of modernizing the transport infrastructure and updating the rolling stock, which is being successfully implemented in Chelyabinsk, while the enterprise continues to develop," - emphasized the General Director of UKCP, Roman Novikov.

It is worth noting that from 2019 to 2023, UKCP supplied 172 tram cars to cities in the Chelyabinsk region.
