UKCP will produce six more trams for Magnitogorsk
Ust-Katavsky Carriage Building Plant (UKCP, part of the Roscosmos State Corporation) has been recognized as the winner of competitive procedures for the supply of six single-section tramcars to Magnitogorsk. Under the terms of the contract, trams must arrive in the city by December 10, 2024. These will be partially low-floor wagons of the 71-623-04 model.

In accordance with the customer's requirements, the passenger compartment of the tram will be equipped with air conditioning, climate control system, wireless access equipment access to the Internet using Wi-Fi technology, contactless fare payment devices, passenger counting sensors and vandal-proof video cameras for viewing and monitoring in an amount of at least eight pieces. For the convenience of passengers with limited mobility, a folding ramp is provided, and the cabin is equipped with additional handrails and racks.

At the moment, the UKCP trams of the 71-623-04 model are among the most in demand on the market. They are characterized by simplicity, convenience and versatility, can be operated on a rail surface of any condition, fully meet all modern requirements in terms of reliability and safety, have a 100% low floor level in the passenger boarding and disembarkation area.

"UKCP trams in Magnitogorsk are well known – our company produced a total of 56 wagons for the city of metallurgists from 2019 to 2023. Magnitogorsk has been implementing a public transport modernization program for several years now. We are glad to be a part of this story and produce a batch of new trams for the city," said Roman Novikov, General Director of UKCP.
